Story Time at the Library

3/12/2012

Story Time for children ages 0-10 began on Sunday, February 26.  This past Saturday there were six children in attendance with their parents.

A field trip to Sharp's Short Stop for our morning snack had children and parents meeting several members of the community, including the Mayor!

Back to the library for story time we read about jungle animals and the sounds they make.

To round off story time with a quieter story, we read Funny Face in the Window about Bobo the monkey and how he escaped his cage at the pet store.

We hope to see more children as time progresses to appear for story time.

The Kansas Sampler Foundation is looking for PowerUps (age 21-39) and PowerOns (age 40+) to attend THE BIG RURAL BRAINSTORM, Meridian Center, 216 North Meridian Road, Newton, Kansas, located at I-135 and Broadway on Friday, February 3 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, February 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This is not a conference.  There will be no speakers.  This is a session of rural Kansans who have the opportunity to "create actions at the grassroots level."

The cost is $40 per person plus lodging.

If you do not have a place to go for Thanksgiving, consider joining the staff at Sharp's Short Stop.  Sign up on the sign-up sheet posted to the side of the cooling section and enter the side dish you are willing to bring.

Thank Sharp's for doing this, because sometimes it is just not enjoyable eating a Thanksgiving Dinner alone!

Thanks Sharp's!
